Because there's a lot in the instructional tool bag.
I’ve learned that training isn’t always the answer — sometimes we need to step back and look at the bigger picture through a performance consulting or organizational development lens. But when training is the right solution, choosing the right approach makes all the difference. Long-form eLearning, short videos, live classroom sessions, quick job aids — every tool in the toolbox has its place, and part of the fun is figuring out which one fits best.
Laurie is one of the most learner-centric, creative, and agile Instructional Designers I’ve had the pleasure of working with. She pursues a deep understanding of the objectives of each training initiative and adjusts the storyboard, visual design, and course activities accordingly. She is constantly developing her toolkit and knowledge, which she incorporates into her creative design, and willingly shares with others. Laurie does not waste your time and money – she manages her activities efficiently and ensures the end-product stays true to the original intent. Laurie excels when given the freedom to apply her instructional design expertise, bringing ideas to life without the need of constant direction. ~ Tamas Barassevich, Global Head of Learning Design and Delivery, BlackRock

Storyboard
Every great eLearning course starts with a storyboard. This document maps out the on-screen text, visuals, interactions, and narration—along with notes on navigation, links, and other key development details. The storyboard gives everyone a clear picture of how the course will look and flow before development begins. Once all reviewers approve it, we move confidently into the build phase knowing we’re aligned on content and design. |
